Situated on a gentle slope jutting out into the sea, Palau overlooks the promontory of Punta Sardegna to the west and Capo d'Orso to the east. A town to which the island of La Maddalena is connected, characterised by its fortifications, commercial port and marina.
A few steps from the town centre are panoramic views of the Sardinian coastline. Overlooking Capo d'Orso is Santo Stefano, Capo Ferro, Baia Sardinia, Caprera, the Gulf of Saline and the Gulf of Arzachena. La Maddalena Archipelago
Consisting of 24 islands and islets, this archipelago is a protected natural area and home to the new Marine Park. The pink beaches, rich in coral, granite rocks and emerald seabed, are accompanied by vegetation full of juniper and myrtle.
Visiting the archipelago by sailing from island to island is one of the best ways to experience your summer. La Maddalena, the largest of the islands, is distinguished by the large granite masses that stand out in front of the sea and anticipate Cala Spalmatore.

Porto Rafael
Palau Hotel is located about 1 km from Porto Rafael. This complex, preceded by the church of Santa Rita and hidden by bushes and trees, overlooks a beautiful sandy shore from which it is possible to see the beach of La Sciumara.
The promontory is distinguished by its granite ridge, which ends at Punta Sardegna, a granite mass overhanging the sea just opposite the island of Spargi.
Capo d'Orso
It is easy to reach Capo d'Orso from our hotel. The 122-metre-high hill juts out into the sea, wedging between Caprera and Santo Stefano. The panorama visible from Palau, rugged and steep, is full of rocky spurs and hollows. The stone bear stands high above, infinitely resistant to all aggression, the eternal guardian of these splendid views.
Near our hotel for groups in Palau are two megalithic monuments: the Li Mizzani Tomb of the Giants and the Lunchia Nuraghe. Both located in Monti Canu, they make this granite ridge, which separates Palau from Arzachena, even more fascinating.
